A little less than 5 years ago a group of Riebeek Regenerates came together for a celebration of life -60 years worth of the well-lived life of Herman Jonker, to be exact. At this small gathering of large minds, around a fire in the heart of the Swartland, Aftermath was conceived...
Fast forward to 2018 and Aftermath has evolved into a pretty amazing gathering with endless potential thanks to YOU! Each year we see amazing, crazy talented, beautiful people bring a little bit of themselves to share with our community, and we would like to remind you that Aftermath cannot be what it is without every single one of you bringing your own special flavour to the gig.

Friday 21 to Monday 24 September 2018

You may have noticed that we snuck an extra day in there - this date is, in fact, a long weekend so WE HAVE A WHOLE EXTRA DAY OF FUN!
The party officially starts on Friday the 21st and exodus will be on Monday. You are obviously not obligated to stay for the entire thing, but can you really resist another day of public holiday boogie?
Our Tech Wizards have been stirring their cauldrons to bring Aftermath our very own website! This means our info and ticketing systems will be an absolute breeze to navigate. We will keep you posted with a countdown when it's ready to go live!
If you have any Aftermath-related content to share - memories, lessons, funny stories, pictures, designs - send them along to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
. We can't wait to see them!
  • BIOS
We will be introducing a bio system this year, which means you need to fill out a form with basic details in order to buy a ticket. We are implementing this system to ensure the safety of participants in case of emergency, and to also ensure that all underage participants are accompanied by their guardians.
Bios can be set up as soon as our website goes live – stay tuned!
Aftermath has a very limited amount of tickets available, only 200 in total. We will be sending out a round of Direct Distribution Tickets (DDTs) before ticket sales to the general public open.
DDTs are tickets allocated to participants who are playing an active role in setting up the playground we all enjoy. So those of you, who would like to get in on the action, have a project you'd like to build, art you'd like to bring, theme camp you'd like to set up, idea you'd like to bring to life; pop us a mail with your proposed idea and we will add you to the DDT shortlist via This email address is being protected from spambots. Get your hands dirty with us here in Riebeek for a fun-filled day of sign painting. Come with paint, brushes, boards and terrible puns. It'll be a kicker. 10am4pm @ Mikey's studio (event page will appear shortly!)
We will have many slots to fill and hands needed over the course of the next few months so keep an eye out for our volunteer day dates to get in on the pre-pre-pre-pre-party action. We need you!
Sign up sheets will be available on the website, but for now, mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to get involved.

As you may know, every year we set up a communal kitchen area. This year the kitchen team has expanded and are looking to create a hub for the community around the thing we all love most – food!
The kitchen team are in need of a few things to lift off, so if you have any of the following available for use during the event, let us know via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • Gas bottles
  • Gas stoves/plates
  • Fridge
Any food donations for communal meals are also welcome!
Itching to get in on the action? Send us your interpretation of the following principle:
What does it mean to you, and how do you think it can be incorporated into our event?
That's all for now, folks! Stay lekker and dala what you must.
